I am always a little sceptical of paying for coaching, as all trainers have different approaches. Never before had I had one to one coaching for endurance running.
Training for the Paris marathon and completing it early this year was an insight into how much I love running. Yet, I didn’t quite feel the experience was good enough on my part. I was, however very determined and entered a further 2 marathons. It was for this reason I contacted DC Run.
I wanted to benefit from one to one sessions, so booked in 3 sessions over 6 weeks. The sessions re-trained my brain and made me think about my form, in between the sessions I had strengthening exercises and warm up drills to do. All of which have now become essential in my weekly training.
David took video’s (This part was rather embarrassing – but it really helps!) All in all, the way in which I run with just 3 sessions has improved, I am quicker with less effort and hills are no longer something I am scared of. I feel more confident and much stronger.
I would highly recommend David; he really understands how to demonstrate and get the best from his clients. As long as you work on the strength exercises I think you will be surprised at the immediate benefits to having a personal trainer. Thank you David for helping me to run better, and look forward to working with you in the future!Kelly, Business Owner
David’s tailored and comprehensive programme has been a revelation. He quickly assessed my poor middle-age form – tight shoulders, ineffective arms and disengaged glutes – and offered an array of exercises and techniques to help me rediscover the joys of running.
His integrated approach emphasizes knowledge and understanding, where balance and progress replace boot-camp rigour.Keith, Technology Director
The furthest I had run up until nine months ago was 9km, and that was only because I got lost. Without training with DC Run I would not have recently finished the Barcelona Marathon, injury free.
I had been a casual jogger for decades but as I upped my distances to get a bit fitter and shed some weight I started getting nagging injuries. I needed help. With DC Run I changed my technique through one-on-one coaching. The change was then reinforced by the addition of more regular sessions, which also boosted my strength, endurance and speed.
Since that change in technique all my injuries have gone away, I’m enjoying running more than ever, and I’m pleased (and relieved) to have run a marathon in around four hours.Guy Templeton, COO
My goal when I started training with DC Run was to learn to run properly. I hadn’t been able to run for many years thanks to an old back injury and I feared that running wasn’t going to be for me.
I have been training with DC Run now for four months. I am able to run and train consistently without pain and with real results in improved fitness and strength. They have even given me the confidence to enter a Half Marathon in May.
Their attention to detail and ability to motivate you to train your hardest in each session have made all the difference to my training and results. Thank you!Kirsten Highnam, Lawyer
“When I started with DC Run, I was suffering from a long-standing Achilles problem and concluded that my running days were over. This was fixed within 3 months and I’m now up and running regularly again.
The inspiration and confidence I have gained has been a genuine game changer. I even found myself out running on Christmas morning! A brilliant training experience and highly recommended. Thank you!”Danielle Mulder, Consulting Director
